Morphit cheat-sheet
Quick reference for everything you'll be asked while using Morphit.
Account name vs seed phrase vs password
- Account name
- Your public name on the chain (e.g. @alice). Other people see this. Choosing a new one is permanent — costs ~3 BLURT.
- Seed phrase
- 12 words. The ONLY way back into your account if you lose your device. Anyone who has them owns your account. Write them on paper, store somewhere safe.
- Password
- Just for THIS device, not the chain. Encrypts your seed in this browser. If you forget it, type your seed phrase to log in again. Different from the seed.
Listing fee vs network fee vs trade payment
- Listing fee
- What Morphit charges to publish your order. Tiny — about 60 BLURT (~$0.12). First buy: free. Pay in BLURT, BTC, or XMR.
- Network fee
- What the Bitcoin or Monero network charges to confirm a payment. Goes to miners, not Morphit. Varies — check the wallet you send from.
- Trade payment
- The actual money you send (or receive) for the trade. Morphit never holds it — straight from buyer to seller, off-platform.
Supported tradable assets
- BTC
- Bitcoin. Most known. Public ledger — anyone can see who paid whom. Fees vary widely.
- XMR
- Monero. Private — no one can see who paid whom. Fees usually low. The privacy choice.
- BLURT
- The token of the Blurt blockchain that Morphit runs on. Used to pay listing fees, post messages, sign orders.
- USDT
- Tether stablecoin. Pegged 1:1 to USD. Trade across four networks: ERC-20 (Ethereum), TRC-20 (Tron), SPL (Solana), BEP-20 (BNB Smart Chain). Pick the network before sending — cross-network is unrecoverable.
- USDC
- USD Coin stablecoin. Centralized — Circle can freeze any address. Trade-only.
- DAI
- DAI — MakerDAO USD-pegged stablecoin. Multi-network (ERC-20/Polygon/Base/Arbitrum, all EVM). Trade-only. Partly USDC-backed.
- BCH
- BCH — Bitcoin Cash, transparent, decentralized, bigger blocks than BTC
- LTC
- LTC — Litecoin, fast, low-fee Bitcoin fork (since 2011). Trade-only on Morphit. Use a Litecoin wallet (Electrum-LTC, Litewallet, hardware wallets); accepts L… legacy, M… modern P2SH, and ltc1… SegWit addresses.
- DASH
- DASH — Dash, fast-confirmation Bitcoin-family chain (since 2014). Trade-only on Morphit. Use a Dash wallet (Dash Core, Dash Electrum, hardware wallets); accepts X… P2PKH and 7… P2SH addresses. Optional PrivateSend mixing via masternodes — pre-mix before sharing the address for stronger privacy.
- DOGE
- DOGE — Dogecoin, transparent proof-of-work chain (since 2013), merge-mined with Litecoin. Trade-only on Morphit. Use a Dogecoin wallet (Dogecoin Core, MyDoge, hardware wallets); accepts D… P2PKH and 9…/A… P2SH addresses. No native privacy upgrade —
- ZEC
- ZEC — Zcash, proof-of-work chain with optional zero-knowledge shielded transactions (Sapling + Orchard pools). Supports both transparent (t1/t3, base58, similar to Bitcoin's legacy addresses) and shielded (zs1/u1, bech32, hides sender/recipient/amount) addresses. Trade-only — cannot pay listing fees.
- ARRR
- ARRR — Pirate Chain. Proof-of-work cryptocurrency with chain-level shielded transactions via the Sapling zk-SNARK pool (every transaction is private by construction). Trade-only on Morphit. Use a Pirate Chain wallet (Treasure Chest, Pirate.Black, Verus); only one address format exists (zs1 Sapling shielded, 78 chars — visually identical to Zcash Sapling).
- DCR
- DCR — Decred. Hybrid Proof-of-Work + Proof-of-Stake cryptocurrency with on-chain governance (Politeia). Trade-only on Morphit. Use a Decred wallet (dcrwallet, Decrediton, Cake Wallet); two address formats (Ds P2PKH and Dc P2SH, 35 chars each). Opt-in CoinShuffle++ mixing available wallet-side for users who want transaction-level privacy.
- SOL
- SOL — Solana. High-throughput Proof-of-Stake cryptocurrency. Trade-only on Morphit. Use a Solana wallet (Phantom, Solflare, Cake Wallet for SOL, Trust Wallet); 32-44 character base58 addresses. Send native SOL — not wrapped SOL or SPL tokens. No native protocol-level mixing; wallet-side address rotation is the privacy lever.
- ETH
- ETH — Ethereum. Proof-of-Stake cryptocurrency. Trade-only on Morphit. Use an Ethereum wallet (MetaMask, Rabby, Frame, Rainbow, Trust Wallet); 42-character 0x-prefixed hex addresses. Send native ETH — not wrapped ETH (WETH) or ERC-20 tokens. No native protocol-level mixing; wallet-side address rotation is the privacy lever. ENS names not resolved — paste raw 0x addresses.
- XRP
- XRP — Ripple. Federated Byzantine Agreement consensus on the XRP Ledger. Trade-only on Morphit. Use an XRPL wallet (Xaman/Xumm, Crossmark, Bifrost, GemWallet, Trust Wallet); 24-34-char base58 addresses starting with `r`. Destination tags required when sending to exchange-hosted addresses (32-bit integer routing). Accounts need ≥1 XRP base reserve to exist. No native protocol-level mixing; wallet-side address rotation is the privacy lever.
If something goes wrong
